Art

Hi, I’m JJ Galloway. I grew up in several different places Connecticut, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, and New Jersey, but spent most of my youth in Florida, where my passion for art really took root. I went on to study at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, immersing myself in a city whose architecture offered endless inspiration—not just for my artwork, but for my love of climbing and parkour.

After graduating, I moved back to New Jersey and began tutoring at a local art studio. In my free time, I dedicated myself to building a strong portfolio. When I wasn’t working on my portfolio I went hiking and climbing often painting, and drawing the scenes I’d encounter. Nature and movement fuel much of my creativity, and I find that my favorite artistic practices—plein air painting and sketching—go hand-in-hand with my love for hiking, climbing, and camping.

I’m incredibly excited to be working at Timberline. It’s the perfect opportunity to blend my passions for art, teaching, and the outdoors. As an educator, my goal is to equip students with a solid foundation in the fundamental principles of art, empowering them to explore and express their own unique voices.
